An NFT is a non-fungible token that can be used as a certificate of authenticity for any digital item. On Fragmint an NFT is referred to an image "minted" on the blockchain, thus having only one owner and that owner is known to the world.

Fragmint is a platform that auctions digital art that has been fragmented into smaller art pieces we call fragmints. The auction is executed using blockchain smart contracts and the bid currency is a cryptocurrency like Ethereum or something similar. So in order to bid you need to be logged in with your crypto wallet. For more info please check How to participate.

A crypto wallet is usually a small app/browser extension or piece of hardware where you can send and receive cryptocurrency funds. On Fragmint we encourage people to use the most popular wallet: Metamask. It is a mobile app wallet and also a browser extension which makes it very convenient. You can bid with Ethereum, which is the second largest cryptocurrency after Bitcoin. Learn how to add funds to your account.

You will be able to claim your bid back only if you're not the highest bidder at any point during the auction and after its ending.

We offer a unique auction format, which allows you to bid on different fragmints that comprise the whole artwork. You can bid on all fragmints separately or try to get them on the secondary market.

The NFTs that you have won on Fragmint will be in your profile when you connect your wallet. However, they are not stored on Fragmint, they will be in your wallet after you claim them and you'll be able to see them there too.
